When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, it left behind more than physical damage, it left families searching for hope. Homes, schools, and livelihoods were swept away, and thousands are still struggling to meet their most basic needs.
As members of the Jamaican diaspora and friends of the island, we refuse to stand by and watch from afar. This is our moment to show up and be the bridge between heartbreak and healing.
Together with the Jamaica Missions Impact Team, we are sending relief straight to the communities most affected, families who have lost everything, and young mothers supported by the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation who now face even greater challenges.
In response to the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, Good Life Network and the Jamaica Missions Impact Team (JMIT) have joined forces under one simple belief — we are stronger together.
We are mobilizing quickly to send forty-foot shipping containers packed with food and essential supplies directly to Jamaica. Our first shipment will focus on immediate relief: food, water, and hygiene items for families in need.
A second shipment will include more specialized items for mothers and babies (diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, and clothing) to support those most vulnerable in this recovery effort.
Every container will be loaded and shipped with the help of dedicated volunteers and local partners, and received in Jamaica by trusted church and community leaders/organizations, who will ensure every package reaches those who need it most.
This is compassion in motion, a hands-on, heart-led effort powered by people who believe hope should travel faster than the storm.
*We are currently only receiving monetary donations.
JMIT’s mission is to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by supporting educational, physical, and spiritual needs, reflecting God’s love through practical care. They accomplish this by supporting local organizations in Jamaica in producing students who thrive spiritually, academically, and physically.
